Join the Center for Artistic Activism, QLatinx, and All Voting is Local in an Orlando pro-voter extravaganza

Coming up in May! Apply below.

You’re invited to Artistic Activism: ¡La Mega Clase! — a dynamic workshop co-led by QLatinx and the Center for Artistic Activism in collaboration with All Voting is Local, in support of organizations and individuals in Florida working to protect the freedom to vote — that want to infuse their work with more innovation, creativity, and impact.

In Artistic Activism: ¡La Mega Clase! you will:

  • learn the fundamentals of artistic activism and how to apply them to pro-voter work
  • collaborate with members of other pro-voting organizations to develop creative campaigns in support of Florida voters
  • prototype your campaigns
  • receive feedback, guidance, and support from C4AA, QLatinx, All Voting is Local, and fellow participants
  • leave with new, wildly creative, and highly strategic ways to achieve your pro-voter goals.

No previous experience required

You don’t need to be an “Artist.” You don’t need to be an “Activist.” You can be a seasoned advocate, totally new to this space, a professional creative, or someone who goes into a panic when they have to pick up a marker. No experience is required, beyond an openness to creativity and experimentation. All are welcome!

The details

Program Kickoff: Wednesday, May 4. Online, 3-5pm.

Artistic Activism Extravaganza: Tuesday, May 24, through Thursday, May 26. In person in Orlando, at the College Park United Methodist Church (644 W. Princeton St.)

Tuesday 6-9pm: we’ll get situated and get to know each other, over a delicious dinner.
Wednesday 9am-10pm: we’ll dive in deep, learning how to build a successful creative campaign. A full day — but a fun one, with all meals included and a top secret activity at night.
Thursday 9am-6pm: We’ll apply all we’ve learned to developing and prototyping our own pro-voter campaigns and chart a course forward for Florida together.

(And if you don’t want it to end, you can join us Thursday night, too, for La Mega Noche.)

And overview of our in-person workshop extravaganza days

The program is a highly-structured, rigorous, and rewarding experience. Full attendance is required.

What is the Center for Artistic Activism’s Unstoppable Voters program?

Through our expansive Unstoppable Voters program, we support creatively risk-taking, strategic, ambitious organizations, people, and projects that address urgent and specific anti-voter attacks. We provide training and community building for individuals and groups who are passionate about protecting the freedom to vote and bringing the needed innovation to that fight. And we provide mentorship and support to help manifest that innovation and bring real, measurable impact. To date, we’ve helped over 40 organizations and over 300 individuals make voting accessible, safe, joyful, powerful, and irresistible.
