Mauricio Delfín

Mauricio Delfín is an international expert in cultural governance, civil society, communications and and civic technologies. With a background in social science research, arts management, and information system design for socially engaged cultural projects, Mauricio is interested in the evolving notions of cultural democracy, cultural justice, and the relationship between civic engagement and open cultural governance.

co-founded and directed Realidad Visual (2001-10), the Peruvian National Summit of Culture (2011-14), and Culturaperu.org (2009-15), a Cultural Information System designed and maintained by civil society. He was a Vanier Scholar (2014-17), OAS Open Government Fellow (2015), and a fellow for the Latin American Initiative for Open Data (ILDA).  Founder and director of Asociación Civil Solar, a non-profit organization that promotes the open government in the arts and cultural sector, he is also a member of the EU/UNESCO Expert Facility and a doctoral candidate in Communication Studies at McGill University.
