We all know that Kansas has very important elections this year — and that we need to turn out voters in record numbers for them. But we also know that with local, state, and federal governments that feel broken, and with so many competing focuses and needs, it can be hard to reach voters and get them to turn out.
So June 24th to 26th, we’re coming to Kansas to bring the creativity and inspire yours. In partnership with Loud Light, we’re spending a weekend with the Youth Power Coalition and advocates in other leading voting organizations for a dynamic workshop all about artistic activism, and how to use the powers of art and culture to connect with voters in this crucial election cycle.

In Unstoppable Voters: Kansas you will
- learn the fundamentals of artistic activism and how to apply them to pro-voter work
- collaborate with members of other pro-voting groups to develop creative campaigns in support of Kansas voters
- prototype your campaigns
- receive feedback, guidance, and support from C4AA, Loud Light, and peers
- leave with new, wildly creative, and highly strategic ways to achieve your pro-voter goals.
No previous experience required
You don’t need to be an “Artist.” You don’t need to be an “Activist.” You can be a seasoned advocate, new to this space, a professional creative, or someone who goes into a panic when they have to pick up a marker. No experience is required, beyond an openness to creativity and experimentation.
The details
Unstoppable Voters: Kansas will be help at Washburn University in Topeka.
Day 1: Friday, June 24, 6-8pm. Our kickoff dinner.
Day 2: Saturday, June 25, 10am-10pm. A full day! We’ll learn what artistic activism is, what it isn’t, and all the building blocks of developing a successful, creative campaign. At night: a top secret outing.
Day 3: Sunday, June 26, 10am-6pm. The conclusion. We’ll envision our Kansas utopia, prototype ideas for getting closer to it, and end with clear plans to connect with voters through Election Day 2022 and beyond.
The program is entirely free to participants.
The program is a highly-structured, rigorous, and rewarding experience. Full attendance is required.
What is Unstoppable Voters?
Through our expansive Unstoppable Voters program, we support creatively risk-taking, strategic, ambitious organizations, people, and projects that address urgent and specific anti-voter attacks. We provide training and community building for individuals and groups who are passionate about protecting the freedom to vote and bringing the needed innovation to that fight. And we provide funding and support to help manifest that innovation and bring real, measurable impact. To date, we’ve helped over 60 organizations and over 400 individuals make voting accessible, safe, joyful, powerful, and irresistible.
