The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign described working with The Center for Artistic Activism as a game-changer. When they first got involved in 2021, the Center helped them create a redistricting Loteria game to engage the community on crucial local issues.
“Having this creative tool meant we could connect more meaningfully with people at events, moving beyond typical tabling to something fun and educational that stuck with them,” explained the coordinator for this project.
The Center’s approach encouraged them to embrace creativity and set clear goals, making planning and implementation easier. Trainees learned new ways to think about activism—not just as serious work, but as something that could be creative, joyful, and even whimsical.
Through the Center’s support, they gained new followers, especially among younger and BIPOC communities, strengthening their reach and impact in ways that continue to build long-term connections.
