Amber Bishop (She/They) is an Ohio Native filmmaker and memory worker based in Maryland. She recently completed her MFA in Documentary Production and Studies from the University of North Texas. Amber has worked in several creative organizations such as Sundance, Women Makes Movies, and Meralata Films, supporting artist and documentary projects while striving to make the film space and resources more accessible.

She hopes to build toward a liberated world, and believes creativity and activism are a part of us getting free. In her creative practice, she translates her experience, revisits the past, and re-imagines the future. Bishop is inspired by the collective Black Imagination that allows one to dream beyond their present state.

Amber joined the Center For Artistic Activism in March 2024.
