Margaret McCarthy

Margaret McCarthy (she/her) is a writer, performer, and nonprofit executive. She was the Executive and Co-Director of Southern Exposure (2019-2024), an ensemble member of the San Francisco Neo-Futurists (2014-2023), and the First Female President  of the U.S.A (FFPOTUS, 2017-2021). She has over a decade of experience at nonprofits working for social change, including four years at the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, and has led long-term organizational strategy, communications, fundraising, and staff and volunteer management at other Bay Area nonprofits including Walk San Francisco and 826 Valencia. She has performed her work at SOMArts, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and Artists Television Access. From 2017-2018 she was a Public Imagination Fellow  at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

Margaret McCarthy is a former Unstoppable Voters grantee and current board member of the Center for Artistic Activism.
